BREAKING NEWS: Minnesota Vikings Fan-Favorite Top Experienced Skill Player Was Arrested Due To Drunk Driving

The offensive skill group of the Minnesota Vikings is tremendous, but one of them is currently in serious trouble.

After authorities discovered wide receiver Jordan Addison dozing off behind the wheel, they detained him over a week ago in the vicinity of Los Angeles International Airport on suspicion of driving under the influence. As a result, Addison is now being charged with DUI.

When questioned about Addison’s circumstances, teammate Josh Metellus responded with words of encouragement, according to The Purple Persuasion.

The No. 23 choice in the NFL draft of the previous year, Addison, had an incredible rookie campaign, catching 70 passes for 911 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns.

By doing this, he has demonstrated that he is a highly competent wide receiver two spots behind Justin Jefferson, who inked a massive new contract for $140 million that runs for four years.

Even if Addison is exonerated of all charges, it remains to be seen if the NFL will take disciplinary action against him, which can include a suspension.

The Vikings selected University of Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy in the 2023 draft in the hopes that he would be a good replacement for departing quarterback Kirk Cousins, after the team missed the playoffs in 2023.

McCarthy played in a run-heavy offense, and although though he led the Wolverines to victory in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game in January, he is now joining a squad that ranked fourth in passing attempts the previous season.

If McCarthy does receive some significant playing time this autumn, it would be detrimental to his chances of establishing himself at the professional level if Addison were to miss some games.
