As Alabama’s fall camp wraps up, the focus shifts to finalizing the depth chart for the 2024 season. With just one week until the season opener, the Crimson Tide coaching staff will solidify the roster after a month of competition. The initial predictions made by BamaCentral in July may need to be updated to reflect the latest developments and player performances from camp. This final depth chart will set the stage for Alabama’s upcoming games and offer a clearer picture of the team’s structure for the new season.
While former Alabama head coach Nick Saban was known for being very reserved about the depth chart, Kalen DeBoer appears to have a more open approach when it comes to revealing his players’ positions.
“Yeah, we’ll probably release the depth chart publicly at some point during the week. A lot depends on our opponent as well. The first game is often the most challenging, but since there’s already so much information about us available, I assume our opponents are aware of it. Most of the depth chart is likely known—about 90%—but the remaining 10% is still being finalized, particularly regarding special teams. There might be some uncertainties or ‘or’ designations in various spots, which I hope will be understood,” DeBoer said on Thursday.
