New York Yankees center fielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. is expected to go on the injured list following a left UCL injury, according to manager Aaron Boone on Tuesday. The 26-year-old hurt himself while sliding into home plate during the Yankees’ 12-2 defeat to the Chicago White Sox on Monday.
After the game, Chisholm was unsure about the severity of the injury, stating to MLB media, “We went through all the tests, and the results have been fairly positive. I still feel some soreness, but I think we’ll be okay.”
Reports on Tuesday indicate that the Yankees are still assessing the injury’s severity and considering whether surgery will be required.
In just 14 games with the New York team, Chisholm is hitting .316 with one double, seven home runs, and 11 RBIs.
