Four-star defensive tackle Nate Marshall has switched his commitment from Michigan to Auburn. Marshall, a student at Fenwick High School in Oak Park, Illinois, revealed his choice on social media Friday. He had previously been committed to Michigan since April 22.
A major factor in Marshall’s decision was Auburn’s defensive line coach, Vontrell King-Williams. Marshall mentioned, “I like Coach Vontrell. He’s from my area, so we share that connection. He’s been recruiting me for a year or two, and we’ve developed a strong relationship. I admire how Coach Trell conducts himself and his coaching style.”
Marshall also appreciates Auburn coach Hugh Freeze and the team’s culture. He stated, “I like the team’s culture and how Coach Freeze manages the team and his own demeanor. I met some of the players and they’re really cool, as are other recruits. It makes sense to surround myself with positive people like that.”
Marshall stands 6-foot-5 and weighs 265 pounds. According to the On3 Industry Ranking, which aggregates data from all four major recruiting media companies, he is ranked as the No. 56 recruit nationally and No. 3 in Illinois. He is the 23rd commitment in Auburn’s 2025 class and the fourth defensive lineman, joining Malik Autry, Antonio Coleman, and Jourdin Crawford.
