The Dallas Cowboys’ preseason received a boost with a 27-12 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders at Allegiant Stadium on Saturday. With star players Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb absent, backup quarterback Trey Lance (15/23, 151 yards, 1 touchdown) seized the opportunity to solidify his position as the second-string QB, while the team continues to deliberate on how to handle its upcoming free agents.
Prescott appears to be coming to terms with the possibility that this might be his final season with the Cowboys. In contrast, Lamb’s situation is more dynamic. The Cowboys are actively negotiating with Lamb’s representatives for a contract extension, and owner Jerry Jones is under considerable pressure to finalize a deal with his prominent wide receiver.
