INJURY UPDATE: Los Angeles Rams Fan Favorite Star Cornerback Sustains Unusual Injury, Out Indefinitely

On the second day of the Los Angeles Rams training camp, recently re-acquired cornerback Darious Williams strained his hamstring, causing him to miss the rest of the week’s practices. Head coach Sean McVay provided an update on Saturday, confirming the injury but not specifying Williams’ return timeline, stating they would assess his condition “a few days at a time.”

In response to Williams’ injury and Derion Kendrick’s torn ACL, the Rams have signed former Detroit Lions cornerback Jerry Jacobs to fill the gap and prevent other players from overexerting themselves, which could lead to further injuries.

Currently, the Rams are adopting a cautious approach with Williams’ recovery. McVay mentioned that the injury wouldn’t change Williams’ status, but they will continue to monitor him. He acknowledged the unpredictability of hamstring injuries and emphasized they would not rush his return. With over 40 days before their game against Detroit, McVay is optimistic but stressed the importance of taking the recovery process slowly and smartly.
