The Dallas Mavericks’ star player, Kyrie Irving, breaks his left hand during an off-season training and needs surgery.
During an offseason workout, Kyrie Irving hurt his left hand and had surgery. Tuesday night, the Dallas Mavericks revealed Irving’s injury, but they did not say how long he might be sidelined.
During their first complete season together, Irving and Luka Doncic were instrumental in leading the Mavericks to the NBA Finals. But Boston won the title series in five games despite their best efforts.
Despite having ailments to his thumb, heel, and foot throughout the regular season, Irving, 32, averaged 25.6 points in 58 games.

Irving had not experienced a deeper postseason run since making it to the finals with Cleveland in 2017. He was a big part of the Mavericks’ success, getting them to the NBA Finals for the first time since their 2011 championship.
The organization announced that they will offer updates on Irving’s condition as needed, and that the training camp would start in around two and a half months.
