Auburn Football has exciting news as they announce the signing of another highly experienced and top-rated superstar running back.

Football at Auburn adds a late LB transfer
The Auburn football team announced the signing of a new transfer late on Thursday night. After playing for six seasons as a linebacker for Maryland, Fa’Najae Gotay made his graduate transfer entry into the transfer portal back in June.

After receiving a redshirt as a freshman in 2018 and appearing in just four games, Gotay established himself as a staple in the linebacker rotation for the Terrapins in 2019 and 2020. After suffering a season-ending injury in Maryland’s season opener, he was sidelined for the 2021 season; however, he played in all of the Terps’ games in 2022 and 2023. Gotay amassed 133 total tackles, seven tackles for loss, three sacks, two interceptions, four passes deflected, and one forced fumble during his six years at College Park.

Gotay, the second linebacker transfer to select Auburn football, joins returners Eugene Asante and Austin Keys, as well as former Duke linebacker Dorian Mausi Jr. Demarcus Riddick and DJ Barber, two of the younger men in the group, will benefit from another experienced presence from Gotay.
